Rewarding and Monitoring and Marking

Bexhill Academy focuses on rewarding students for completing homework that demonstrates engagement, commitment and meets or exceeds a student’s target. The Academy rewards using the Academy ‘carrot reward’ system and staff will also use other rewards with their students.

Academy staff will record that homework has been submitted or not submitted on Show My Homework.  Academy staff will acknowledge students homework through a variety of feedback mediums (class marking, self/peer marking, teacher marking, computer applications). Some homework’s will be marked more deeply showing student feedback (WWW and EBI).

The Engagement grade reported on a student’s report takes homework into account. Academy staff will apply appropriate Academy sanctions with students who persistently do not submit homework. Non submission of homework will result in points being recorded against a student using our behaviour/engagement management system. Accumulating points results in detention.

The Library is available for students to carry out Independent Study, Monday until Thursday 2.50pm - 4.30pm, computer access and printing are available for students
